Forest City and Clear Lake, Iowa

Forest City is the home of of Winnebago Industries, which manufactures motorhomes and all types of recreational vehicles. Winnebago Industries was born in 1958, when a group of local businesses, worried about Iowa’s depressed farm economy, persuaded Modernistic Industries of California to build a travel-trailer factory in Forest City.

The 200-acre factory includes the main assembly areas which you can visit on a plant tour.

Clear Lake is a large lake located near Forest City. It is is also a major stop on Interstate 35 with many restaurants, hotels and truck stops.

An annual Take a Kid Fishing Tournament is held each June.

Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach is located in Los Angeles County, just 3 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport.

A scenic 928-foot-long pier at the end of Manhattan Beach Boulevard offers fishing all year. The city is a very upscale beach town within commuting distance of Los Angeles, making it one of the most expensive coastal towns in which to live in America, according to the most recent Fortune Magazine rankings.
